Virtual Hospice services on the increase amidst COVID-19

The Covid-19 pandemic has seen many organisations increase their online presence to continue meeting the demand for their services and hospices have been no exception.

This year has been a difficult year for hospices and many are adapting to continue to support their patients.

In 2001The Canadian Virtual Hospice was set up to address some of the gaps in palliative care in Canada. They provide support and personalised information about end of life care to patients and family members.

We are now seeing an increase in this type of service.

Shooting Star Children's Hospices has now launched a virtual hospice. Whilst continuing to provide their end-of-life care and emergency or urgent respite, their virtual hospice helps to ensure that the families are still able to access some of the other vital services Shooting Star Children's Hospices provide.
